Question:
What is the most important issue the next Ward 2 councillor, and the next city council, will have to face in the 2026-2030 term of office, in Ward 2, and what must be done to address and resolve it?
Answer:
The biggest challenge facing Ward 2 over the next four years is ensuring that growth works for the people who already live here. I believe we can create a downtown that is full of enjoyment and employment. My priority is to help build a downtown that is safe, clean, and economically strong. That means supporting local businesses, reducing unnecessary barriers to investment, improving public safety, and creating an environment where families, students, entrepreneurs, and visitors all feel welcome. The next council will need to build on that foundation by restoring confidence in our core, encouraging private investment, supporting small businesses, and creating a downtown that people are proud to visit, work in, and call home. Government cannot solve every problem, but it has a responsibility to create the conditions for people and businesses to succeed. As the Councillor of Ward 2, I believe I can help make the difference we need.
